Dr. O’s Pop Shop

Dr. O’s Pop Shop is a roving art installation, a propositional concept store inspired by the “art-industrial complex” and its attendant lifestyle. Possible to realize as a living store or as an installation, the Pop Shop was conceived and created by Dr. O—one of the many avatars of Dr. Omar Kholeif.

Inspired by Keith Haring’s New York city Pop Shop, which first opened its doors in the 1980s, Dr. O’s Pop Shop seeks to use a distinct range of platforms to democratically engage as broad as possible a public in the culture of contemporary art and its making.

Fusing highfalutin art, Afro-Arab streetwear, and post-millennial couture, this roving, and sometimes semi-permanent Pop Shop presents a living archive of unique and limited-edition art that you can choose to wear, sit on, look at, or live with. A revolution in aesthetic fun starts here.
