A platform for the production of hybrid cultural forms, artPost21 was conceived and founded by Professor Omar Kholeif, PhD in 2012 and since 2022 co-directed by Prof. Sarah Perks, Blake Karim Mitchell and a network of independent collaborators whose work existed at the nexus of artistic culture, social justice, and conscious alliance, often engaging technology.

In 2026, Perks became chair of aP21’s Advisory Council, along with Mitchell, complemented by two new additions: award-winning fashion and costume designer, Frank Gallacher (UK), as well as researcher, curator and cultural strategist, Sofia Victorino (Portugal). Vested with a new creative mission, artPost21 is a living, breathing and mutable engine that responds to the contours and urgencies of the present.

artPost21 is a not-for-profit agency that produces culture in all its forms:

  • Publishing, production, commission, and broadcast.

  • Art consultancy and advisory services, archiving and preservation, legal consultation, and artist support.

  • Experiments in art and cultural education, i.e., the infamous artPost21 intensive.

  • Collecting, visioning, strategy, and world building.
